A rarely-seen varietal harvested from vines planted in 1912 . Pale yellow with green hues. On the nose, delicate melon aromas and mineral notes. On the palate, fresh, good body, very good acidity and notes of ripe green melon.Excellent with sea food, this wine is especially good with delicatessen like oysters, caviar or whitebait.
White grape varietals fermented with skin contact. Each variety was fermented separately: Rebula, Sauvignonasse, and Malvasia. Aromas of quince, ripe pear, baked “pituralka” pear from Brda, hints of thyme. Flavor: Distinct minerality, citrus, and thyme. Gentle and sweet tannins with long, fresh, and lasting aftertaste rounded with roasted almonds.
A classic! We produced the first commercial bottling of Lemberger in the United States back in 1980, and it’s been a cult favorite ever since. 76% Lemberger (aka Blaufrankisch), 14% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Carmenère. We grow just under 14 acres at the Kiona Estate vineyard on Red Mountain. Medium bodied and bright with loads of fresh dark fruit, vanilla, soft tannins. We like to describe Lemberger as Pinot Noir on steroids.
A burst of intense coffee, chocolate, ripe mulberry, plum and Maraschino cherry. Luscious tannins make this an accessible wine ready to be enjoyed. Drink on its own or with seared duck breast, crisp pork belly or your favourite pizza.
